Hans Jacob [Jakob] II. Läublin

Hans Jakob Läublin comes from a family of goldsmiths. He began his training in the workshop of his father, the goldsmith Hans Jacob [Jakob] Läublin I. Before he travelled to Augsburg, where he learned to draw, design and to  enamel. In 1687 he was accepted into the Schaffhausen goldsmiths' guild. Although he was a Protestant, he supplied numerous churches and monasteries with liturgical as well as secular objects, which are often decorated with colourful enamels. In 1700, Läublin gilded the lions on the Zurich town hall portal.
